What are the time limits for Inspection Service transactions?

Applicable to inspection transactions on the Inspection Service platform at inspection.alibaba.com. Inspector and buyers should also pay attention to the time in the 'Order Management' section on the Inspection Service platform.


1. Payment of the inspection fees by buyer Buyer must pay the inspection fees in full to the Secure Payment account, within 30 days from buyer's order date. If the inspection fees are not received in full in a Secure Payment account within 30 days, the order will be cancelled, unless the inspector has agreed to late payment by the buyer in writing. For T/T payments, the payments must be made in US dollars and include the order ID assigned by Alibaba.com, otherwise the buyer will not be considered as having made the payment and the funds will be returned to the payer.
2. Inspection by inspector The inspector must conduct the inspection on or prior to the agreed inspection date and complete and submit the inspection report in the Inspection Platform within 3 days after the inspection date or as otherwise agreed with Buyer. If the inspector fails to complete and submit the inspection report within 3 days after the inspection date or as otherwise agreed with the buyer, the inspector will be considered as being in breach and any funds received will be refunded to buyer (less any financial charges).  
3. Confirmation of release of funds by buyer Within 7 days after the inspector's submission of the inspection report, the buyer must do one of the following on the Inspection Service platform:
(a) Buyer accepts the inspection report and agrees to the release of the funds held in Secure Payment to inspector; or
(b) Buyer requests refunds; or
(c) Buyer raises a dispute. If the buyer takes no action listed in the left column within 7 days, the buyer will be deemed to have agreed to release the funds to the inspector.  
4. Agreement to refund request by inspector In case the buyer submits a refund request, the inspector must confirm whether or not they have agreed to the refund request within 7 days on the Inspection Service platform. If the inspector does not confirm within 7 days, the inspector will be deemed to have agreed to the refund request and the funds received will be refunded to buyer (less any bank charges).  
5. Amendment to refund request by buyer In case the Inspector refuses the refund request, the buyer has 7 days to amend the refund request or to confirm the release of the funds held in Secure Payment on the Inspection Service platform. If the buyer does not confirm within 7 days, the buyer will be deemed to have agreed to release the funds to inspector, and then the funds received will be released to the buyer (less any bank charges). If the buyer and inspector do not agree to the refund request, the order enters into the dispute process.

All references to days refer to calendar days.
