What is FAS?
FAS is the abbreviation of Free Alongside Ship. The shipping risk passes to the buyer, including payment of all transportation and insurance costs, once the order is delivered alongside the ship (realistically at a named port terminal) by the supplier. The export clearance obligation rests with the supplier.
