Duplicating downloads

I have a very slow internet connection so I am growing tired of repeated "bugs" whereby I-Tunes prompts me to download duplicates of movies and shows that I already have downloaded.

I end up calling support and deleting existing downloads and redownloading content but the problems return affecting different files each time.

In the latest example you can see that I am being prompted to download a copy of a movie that is clearly already there (T2: Trainspotting).

This has been going on for years and I recently replaced my PC so it clearly is a bug / issue in Windows and maybe elsewhere.
