On iPad IOS 11.0.2, I cannot remove a recent app from the dock, even after disabling "Show Suggested and Recent Apps on Dock."

Hi. If the icon has a little clock beside it, then it is a Siri suggestion based on time of day. Apparently, these are not affected by the setting. You can remove it on a one-time basis by holding an app until they begin shaking (takes a little longer now). Then tap the that appears on the dock icon.
