Why do I have vertical lines on my macbook

Can someone please tell me what is going on with the laptop? This began 3 months outside of AppleCare warranty. I tried to reset the PRAM but nothing.

There is a high chance it's a problem with the LCD display, go to apple store and ask the genius for help.
