Mac Mini talking about Microsoft virus

Two days ago I had walked away from my Mac Mini and my wife tells me me computer is talking. I was using Firefox at the time and had just three tabs open: MyYahoo, Facebook and youTube. Voice said I had to contact MS, and a window opened saying the same thing. That horrible things would happen if I closed the window before sending MS my name and other info.  Talking about a Microsoft virus and how I needed to contact them immediately. Instead I closed the window and quit the browser. But not before copying this off the window that opened. I also copied the web address, but it turns out to be a very long string of numbers.

What’s going on and how do I make sure it doesn’t happen again?

I should add that I didn't notice until the following day there was a Flash player on my desktop and a window asking if I wanted to install it. Since I didn't remember asking for it I trashed it.

Also that I'm now running High Sierra, but when this occurred I had not yet unpgraded.
