high sierra modern authentication

My company just implemented MFA (modern authentication) and there is no option for app passwords.  Does High Sierra mail.app (or will it any time in the near future) support MFA for Exchange?  I know iOS 11 added this feature in the recent release but High Sierra doesn't seem to have this available so I am forced to use the Outlook for Mac app which isn't that great on battery, performance and other issues.

Any help would be appreciated.
