Icloud Account

I have iCloud acct on 2 iPhones, iMac and on Mac Air. It works fine on all devices except MacAir. When I sign in, it gives me unknown error. The AppleID is the same and it shows it is logged in on the MacAir but there is no data. When I try to sign out, the wheel just keep on spinning for hours but it does not sign out. Have deleted networkpref but no luck. Using Sierra 10.12.6.

So I cannot sign in and see data and I cannot sign out so I can re-enter the Apple ID. Can somebody help?

Try booting into the Safe Mode to see if you can sign out.

Thanks Eric - Tried but the wheel is still turning and not "signing out"

Might be a corrupt .plist.

Do a backup, preferably 2 backups on 2 separate drives.

Quit the application.

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist.  Move the .plist to your desktop.

Restart the computer, open the application, and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.

If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

If that doesn't work, try running this program in your normal account, then copy and paste the output in a reply.
