Also this is on an iPad Air 2 v 10.3 I can connect to some sites like Facebook but not Amazon, twitter or places like Buzzfeed. Happens on Chrome and Safari.

I'm running an iPad Pro on iOS 10.3.3 and the Amazon website works just fine.

Have you tried a hard reset of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons?
