Font not displaying on incoming mail in OSX Mail

Hi, I've got an issue with a new iMac with OSX Sierra on it – in the Mail programme the text on incoming messages isn't displaying properly, it looks like it's been converted to a Cyrillic font instead of what it should be (which at a  guess would be Helvetica). No-one else in the studio has got this problem, I do have the latest FontAgent installed but can't immediately see any cyrillic fonts installed in there nor activated so does anyone have any ideas about what the issue could be or how to fix it?

It would help if you could give info on what at least the first few words are supposed to be in that text.

My first guess would be that you have an old non-unicode cyrillic font installed which maps cyrillic to latin and is substituting for a normal english font.   It might have CYR in the name somewhere.  Otherwise you could use font book to check the repertoires of fonts to see which one has cyrillic where normal latin should be and remove it.
