Mac Mini late 2014 and 2560x1440. HDMI or Displ...

Hello all.

I own a Mac Mini late 2014 model with Intel Iris graphics and intend to buy a 2560x1440 Dell UltraSharp 25" U2515H. Specs are in the attached image. This monitor comes with a DP cable (Mini-DP to DP). Does this cable connect in some way to my Mac Mini (which has two Thunderbolt 2 ports)? Will I need a separate cable or adapter?

My Mac's HDMI version is 1.4a, which should be more than enough for that resolution + refresh rate. Is this a viable option to get that full 2560 x 1440 res at 60Hz?
