Series 3 Explorer face does not display signal ...

I've activated the cellular data plan for the watch, and I've confirmed cellular is enabled, but the Explorer watch face does not show the green LTE signal strength indicators. Does this mean I'll only see the indicators on the face if I'm actively using the cellular network (rather than a known WiFi or BT connection)?

Yes, you will only see it when connected to cellular.
