iPad Pro keyboard not working

I see that there have been many people complaining and asking questions to resolve the ipadpro keyboard problem and Apple still hasn't been able to procide satis answer.

 

I have also called the contact centre and they tell me the same thing - to reboot and start the iPad again. Unfortunatel, this doesn work either.

 

Has anyone been able to fix this problem and share how you did it?

i've been researching this issue that i started experiencing intermittently a month back, and was not at all surprised to see that apple is not addressing it. I actually started typing this w/ my APPLE auxillary keyboard on my 12.9 IPP, and it stopped working midsentance.

 

i'm glad that google is starting to take a bigger interest in the hardware realm. Everything apple has been in decline for the past few years <sigh>

DETAILED description.



My iPad Pro Smart Keyboard worked perfectly when I purchased it about 18 months ago. When I updated to IOS 10, I started to have problems and couldn't get it to work.  I searched to find solutions on the internet and on the Apple Discussion website. I followed the instructions to clean and reboot my iPad but still didn't work.

 

What appears on the screen off and on is a message that says that the device is not supported.

 

I contacted the Apple Customer Service Centre and they too suggested to me to reboot my iPad. I think I must have done this more than a dozen times and my problem still hasn't been resolved for months.



I have had the same exact problem as well for the last few months. It would be great if Apple could tell us what's wrong, as the Smart Keyboatd was not cheap! 



I Have the exact same problem.  Heading to a meeting as we speak and my keyboard is not working.  EXTREMLY DISSAPOINTED with apple to say the least....



I have both the 12.9 and 9.7 iPad Pro.  I have the 12.9 Apple Smart Keyboard.  It will only work randomly with my 12.9, but has worked consistently with the 9.7.  I had it on the 12.9 this morning and it would not work.  Disconnected the 12.9 and placed the 9.7 on it and it worked perfectly. 



I've had the same exact problem! Ever since updating to the latest software release the keyboard does not work like it used to. It mostly doesn't work, only intermittently; I get the same message that the "Accessory is not supported" and other times when it does connect it backspaces automatically, erasing what I had just typed, and it won't stop, it just keeps going backwards until I take the keyboard off!

 

This issue has become super frustrating because this keyboard is very expensive - Apple it would be nice if you could address this with a fix or replace all our keyboards with ones that work - it's not like Apple is not making tons of money on product sales worldwide. Thank you.



I have the exact same problem, keyboard continuously not recognised.

I've rebooted the Ipad loads of times, it works for a minute then stops again. I'm trying to use it as a laptop replacement but since the last IOS update the other week i havent been able to !!!



Apparently there are many customers with this issue! Why is Apple not supplying a satisfactory answer?



After posting yesterday, I contacted costumer support and they ended up sending me a new keyboard.  They could not find a solution to the problem and basically gave up.  I also asked them if they were trying to fix the problem because other people were having the same exact problem.  The rep. stated that they would deal with this issues on a case by case basis because they have not heard of this problem before...  He also stated that they were being "nice" by sending me a new keyboard because mine was 50 days out of warranty (+- 18 month old).  I highly suggest everyone reaches out to Apple and explains the problem and the aggravation or nothing will be done about this issue.  Thus, a lot of us will end up buying new keyboards (i.e. $185) every 18 - 24 months....

Smart Keyboard with iPad Pro 9.7 not connecting since the last update. Have restarted and checked connections. Pencil also initially would not connect, but was able to "forget" and re-pair the connection. Still no Smart Keyboard.

Did you contact Apple with your issue? Make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store? I understand that it's frustrating when something doesn't work. However, that doesn't mean it's a problem that everyone or even most people are having. Apple isn't going to magically know that you are having a problem. You will have to tell them if you want them to help you.
