Mac OSX Sierra

There seems to be a fundamental issue between MAC OSX Sierra and yahoo email.

1. The issue only occurs on Mac with Sierra

2. No issues on iOS

3. Yahoo email accessible and everything works via iOS, web browser etc...

4.  I have read of multiple users experiencing this issue

5. restarting Email client or logging in too yahoo web site temporarily solves this issue, not sure how though

6. Mail -> preferences ->accounts ... selecting a yahoo account (I use several) looking at server settings, the tab is different than other Imap email accounts (non yahoo) no possibility to add user and server details for incoming email etc..

It would be helpful if someone from Apple or Yahoo address this issue and update us that they are trying to solve it. in the mean time any tips would be helpfull

I have had an issue with my yahoo account being offline, I have just found that if you use other instead of yahoo when setting up the account I now have my emails from my BT Yahoo account in my mail box.

I had to delete the yahoo account first other wise mail recognises the email address and states that the account is already set up.

How do I delete the yahoo account, if it isn't showing in the apple mail? Can you please give me step by step instructions? I'm having the same exact issue you describe, when i sign in, it says I'm already set up/signed in, and can only click "ok", but i still never see my yahoo account or emails in the native apple mail app. I can only check them using a browser. Thank you in advance for any help!
