The output sound on my MacBook Pro has suddenly...

I have a MacBook Pro 2014 version. It has MacOS Sierra 10.12.6.

Today the output sound suddenly refused to work with the external speakers. These are plugged into the headphones port.

I have tried re-starting the computer with no luck.

I have gone to the Sound option in System Preferences with no luck.

Have you tried testing the output with any other device besides said speakers?

Is there sound when you use the internal speakers?
