How to use Utility I/O to process audio through...

Dear All,

I would like to process audio from Logic X through an external hardware device, and I'm using a Universal Audio interface.

I followed this guidance in the Logic X manual re. setting up the I/O Utility plug-in although it was unsuccessful: https://documentation.apple.com/en/logicstudio/effects/index.html#chapter=14%26s ection=3%26tasks=true

I also carried out the following:

  1. In the I/O plug-in I chose output '3/ line 1' on the Apollo and input '1 (mic/line/hiz 1)'
  2. I created a new track in Logic and choose it's input as the same bus I'm sending the audio to.
  3. When I press play in Logic there is no audio coming into the Logic bus which has the I/O plug-in in inserted.
  4. I also can't see any indication of audio entering the external hardware device.
  5. The Universal Audio Console channel 'Analog 1' has no audio running through it.

Can anyone please confirm how to resolve the issue?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,

Mr Rock
