"Your iCloud account settings are out

I keep getting a notification "Your iCloud account settings are out-of-date" when I add an iCloud account to Windows Mail even though I am using the two factor authentication - generate password feature from iCloud.

I don't have the problem when I set the account up with IMAP. It seems to only be related to the calendar as mail is still coming in.
