i have an iPod touch and it is stuck on the app...

Hello,

I have an iPod touch, with the old pin cable, and it is frozen on the apple logo.  I'm locked out and can't do anything.  It won't restart, or turn off.  My computer does not recognize it.  How can I fix it?
