Software update not accepting password

My ipad and iPhone have red 1 indicator on my settings app. It is asking for software grade.  I select install now. I enter my password and it keeps failing. I have reset my iTunes password and tried again.  Still doesn't accept password. What am I doing wrong?



Hi Phatrick,

 

It seems like you are trying to update an iPhone that is locked with a passcode. Try entering the passcode that you set to unlock the iPhone.

 

If it is not available, try to restore the iPhone from recovery mode as suggested here:

I have the same problem. I can get into my phone with my passcode. I can get it to iTunes with a passcode. But the software update is requiring a passcode that is neither of these and I don't know what it is?   I don't know if this is related but when I try to delete a profile it also asks for a password and neither password works to delete the profile?   I cannot delete a profile and I cannot add a profile because no password seems to work.
