Mac OS fails to install

I have a MacBook Pro mid 2012. I previously had a problem with my Samsung EVO ssd. Mac OS failed to boot on the ssd so I contacted the store from which I bought it from and got a new one. I tried installing a fresh installation of Mac OS high Sierra on the new SSD. From the first installation screen is completes, but then it reboots and I see the apple logo loading but it returns to the “Mac OS utilities screen” . I tried it in both slots for hard drives. (Including where the old disk drive was)What’s my next step?

Is yours an ACHI model?

There are NVME models out there, and at this writing, NVME models will boot MacOS.

I have an 850 EVO, so achi I guess?

what is the entire long model and part number?

I have a SM951 Model MZ-HPV2560 part number MZHP256HDGL-0000 installed on a PCIe card. It requires a heatsink because if it got hot, it would throttle down. Otherwise works great.

a link to the seller's web page for the item, if available, might help.
