iMac Mid 2010 video card is not working

I have had this iMac a very long time. Then in Late 2015, I decided to upgrade to pc. (The main reason for upgrading was because I am a gamer) Then now in 2017, I wanted to give the iMac to my mother since she really needed a new one. but I plugged it in but there was no screen. I heard the classic apple sound at the start of boot but no screen. I tried plugging the iMac to an external monitor but still no luck then I called apple support and they told me that it is most likely a video card issue. what should I do? iMac video card are around $50NZD to $150NZD. I live in New Zealand. Really would like some advice. I still have the apple mouse and keyboard but the mouse does not work anymore. I think the mac was running El Capitan, Yosemite or maybe Sierra. Thanks
