iTunes Store and Apps Missing from iTunes

After a recent iTunes update, the iTunes Store, as well as all iPhone apps managed by iTunes, disappeared from iTunes. All that’s left of them is a new section called “File Sharing” that was previously part of the Apps section.

Going back to the iTunes library, the “store” page in every section is now blank. Nothing displayed, can’t search anything.

Also can’t update IOS or iTunes, since I’m getting the error, “The iPhone software update server could not be contacted.”

Trying the updates check within iTunes, returns the error, “The iTunes update server could not be contacted.” This seems to be an old problem, goes back a few years, yet Apple Support yesterday had no idea what I was talking about.

Would anyone be familiar with a solution for this issue?
