Macbook Air 13" (Early 2014) Logic Board Failure

My Macbook Air is in pristine condition with no internal damage, water damage or negligence-related isssues. Cycle count is under 1000. The logic board just died on its own. At the apple genius bar, I was quoted $475 to fix the logic board that experienced no accidental damage. it seems to be a design failure. What are my options in recourse? Has anybody else faced this issue? If there are hundreds of us who have experienced th same issue, perhaps Apple should be held accountable. Let me know if you have a solution. I have heard that shaking the laptop has worked for some, but I would rather not shake it.
