My App Store and Photos applications are not wo...

My App Store and Photos applications are not working on my imac. Once apps are opened, they no longer respond to any click. I can not use the menu nor quit the applications from the menu on top of the screen. my system is macOS Sierra version 10.12.6. I have tried restarting, restarting using the command-option-p-r keys while booting up and command-option while starting application. None of these were successful. Any one know a solution for this
