WatchOS4 update error at verifying status

I am trying to update Apple Watch to WatchOS4. Update is stuck at verifying status n with an update error it stops Tried all possible tricks found on web -resetting network settings in iPhone -updating iPhone iOS to 11 - hard/soft reset Nothing  works Could not restore to older watchos versions because as soon as I pair it with iPhone ; it asks to update to WatchOS4

First update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS (the latest version is currently iOS 11.0.2), starting by making a backup:

If you experience issues at or before the "verifying" stage, then it may help to follow these steps, which have resolved the same issue for other users.

 

However: do not interrupt your iPhone or watch if the process has already reached "installing". Note that you may need to scroll up on your iPhone screen to see the current status.

 

  • On your iPhone, close the Watch app along with all other open apps (double-press on the Home button, swipe up on the previews).

 

 

 

 

If the issue persists, then I suggest that you instead unpair and re-pair your Apple Watch (the software will be updated as part of the process) via the Watch app, choosing to Restore from Backup when offered the option during setup:
