Connecting older Cinema Display to new MacBook ...

Hello,

I wanting to connect my old cinema display DVI/Thunderbolt 2 to a 2016 13" MBP.

I just purchased the new Thunderbolt 2-3 adaptor and nada. I know the monitor works as I tested it on an older MBP.  I tried all 4 ports on the 13" MBP and nothing.

Is this not compatible with the 13"?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

"The Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter doesn't support connections to these devices:

Apple LED Cinema Display

DisplayPort or mini DisplayPort displays

DisplayPort or mini DisplayPort adapters, such as Mini DisplayPort to HDMI or Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapters"

If the display uses DVI, this may work:

USB-C is new, and some people have reported trouble, even with the correct adapters.

Don't forget to connect the displays USB cable to the computer.
