Orientation bug ios11

i have an ipad pro 9.7 32gb running ios 11.0.3. Since upgrading to ios 11, everytime i swipe left on the home screen, the screen goes into landscape mode. I did all the possible steps to see if the issue was specific to my device; soft reset, turn on/off, toggle orientation lock on/off, factory reset etc. Im assuming that this a ios 11 bug and i can’t believe that 2 subsequent updates haven’t fix this issue. I consolidated all my apps into one screen to see if that mitigates the issue but weirdly enought, any swipping to the left triggers the lanscape mode but once i shut off the screen or open an app, the screen goes back to portrait mode.
