How do I manually update a smart playlist?

Hi - I used to be able to update a smart playlist (I prefer not to have live updating) manually by right clicking on the playlist and choosing to update it.  That option appears to have gone.  Does anyone know how to do it?

(Also - related - if you know why can't I get any of my smart playlists to sync to my iphone - that would be great too!)

One way is to select all of the tracks and delete them, iTunes should then refresh the list.
