How much SSD capacity is sufficient for MacOs S...

Hi,

I am trying to upgrade the 1TB HDD in my 13 inch Non Retina i7 Mid 2012  Macbook Pro laptop to a 250 or 500 GB SSD.

I need to know whether a 250 GB SSD would be suitable or 500 GB SSD for installing just the operating system.

Thanks

Take a look at your System folder, Library folder and Applications folder. Add those up. 250GBs should be more than enough to hold those and more. That said, it never hurts to have more space than you need.

In direct answer to the question in your subject, Sierra requires 8GBs of HD space.

There is no question the 250 GB is more than suitable for what you describe.
