HOW MUCH RAM IN IPAD PRO 10.5?

Does anyone know?  In its infinite wisdom Apple of course chooses to hide this metric.

Yes it's 4 gbs I found out Tuesday the 13th when I received mine. Used the app named system status. Sorry I was too busy working and using my new iPad! And it was difficult to find this thread, until I got an email about the response about fixit.

Apple has never made the RAM specs of iPads public.

Ram is only known after some enterprising people get their hands on it and open it up to find out how much RAM is in it.

Considering there is no way to alter the RAM and no alternate configurations to be had, it seems rather pointless to know how much RAM it has.  Its designed to work with the amount of RAM it will have and that's all it will ever have. RAM on iPads unlike other devices is not a really important spec.

With that said, it will likely be somewhere between 2GB and 4GB going by the previous iPad Pros.

Yes, safe to say between 2 and 4gb.  It is certainly NOT pointless to know which, and the amount of RAM is a hugely important spec. Anyone who has compared safari running on 1 gb versus 2 gb will understand this.

If you mean storage...64/256/512GB. Buy iPad Pro - Apple

Don't mean storage. RAM != storage.

In all honesty I've never seen any major difference in Safari in my iPad Air 2 and my iPad Pro 12".  2GB vs 4GB.

The difference between performance in Safari on an iPad with 1GB (iPad Air 1, or iPad Mini 4) and one with 2 GB has more to do with the processor and gpu, than the RAM in general.

Regarding 1 versus 2 gb I beg to disagree.  The less RAM, the fewer the number of pages / tabs can be kept in cache without the need to refresh. Can make for a decidedly different user experience. 

I am quite certain that I am not alone in being a potential buyer of a 10.5 iPad Pro who wants to know the RAM before purchasing. 

The 9.7 inch screen iPad Pro has 2 GBs of RAM.

The 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro has 4 GBs of RAM.

So, at the very least, the new 10.5 inch screen iPad Pro will have 2 GBs of RAM.

You think?  Definitely agree.  If it has 2gb I will not buy it.

Phil0124, The amount of RAM is definitely not pointless. It is the difference between me buying now or waiting. It would be nice if we could perpetually run more resource intensive and powerful apps with one or two GB of ram, but that is a pipe dream.

And I suspect Apple knows this, I don't think they expect us to run new apps and the new iOS 11 in less RAM than previous models.  And I don't expect Apple to produce an iPad that cannot at least perform  as well as previous models with the demands that will be placed on it.

So whether it has 2 or 4 I don't see that being an issue in its overall performance.

I would also like to know how much RAM it has. It is a very valuable spec to me because it determines how many layers can be used in procreate.

I am also of the belief that we won't know for sure until official release, but it is an important question none the less.

Here's the thing peoples.

The 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro has 4 GBs of RAM because some of that RAM, as well as the GPU, are used to drive just the larger sceen which is a LOT more than just 20% larger than the standard 9.7 inch screen iPad Pro.

So, my feelings is the slight increase in screen size probably doesn't need the extra RAM.

If the small increase in screen size needs more than 2 GBs of RAM, maybe the 10.5 inch screen iPad Pro could jump up to 3 GBs of RAM, instead of 2 GBs of RAM.

I don't see the 20% increased screen size hobbling the performance of the smaller iPad Pro even with only 2 GBs of RAM installed.

I don't see the smaller iPad Pro getting 4 GBs of RAM.

According to https://www.imore.com/ipad-pro-2, both the new iPad pros have 4gb RAM.

More RAM better and more layers in procreate men!
