I find it very frustrating to have very small sliding motions when I remove my finger from the Magic Mouse mouse lead to undesired zooming (looking at a Google map in Safari) of panning (across and/or down on an Excel spreadsheet).

You can either check out this free software called MagicPrefs or purchase a 3rd party mouse for under $20 that does everything an Apple Magic mouse does but w/more user controls/customizations.

You may want to try some of the options in Mouse control. Go to the Apple menu at the top left of your screen, click on it and select System Preferences, then select the mouse icon from the 2nd row. There are 2 pages of options to try there.

Tried that. Found nothing.

Thanks. MagicPrefs seems to have made it possible for me to stop the swipe functions that I do not want.

How? I just downloaded the utility and I'm not seeing any options that look like they would help the map scrolling issue.
