Two iPhones on same account are now sharing photos

My son upgraded his iPhone last night and now his photos are mixed in with my photos on my phone and my photos are mixed in with his on his phone.

I assume this is because we share an iTunes account and the new IOS prob turned the photo sharing feature on during the upgrade.

We have had iPhones for years under the same account and this never happened.

My daughter also shares the account but this issue didn't happen when she upgraded a few weeks ago.

So, my questions is this - is there a way we can reverse this without deleting all the photos on our phones?
