Macbook pro late 2016 usb stop responding after...

I have a Macbook pro 15-inch from late 2016 (with touch bar). I usually have my mac connected to several external displays using usb type c adapters. Some times (not always) when I wake up the laptop from sleep the adapters stop working, that includes monitors, and other peripherals I connect using those adapters (mouse, keyboard, ethernet etc...).

I noticed that if I unplug all the adapters, I put to sleep the laptop, then I wake it up and plug the adapters again the monitors work but not the usbs and ethernet.

So far the only I found to "fix this" is by rebooting the laptop. However, I do not consider that a solution since restating my laptop every time I want to use it after sleep is quite annoying.
