Locked out of my Mac by another party

Hi all, last week I recieved a notification on my phone that someone in another country was trying to use my iCloud account, long story short they accessed find my mac/iphone and locked me out of my mac. I got on the phone with apple support after this happened, I was on the phone for hours with no resolve and was told I would get a call back and haven't. I have included a screenshot of an email I got from whoever did this, and a photo of what my screen looks like currently. 

I am wondering if there is a way to bypass this code, I am starting class again soon and will need access to this computer. This mac is now showing as offline on my find my iphone app so I cannot do anything to it there, and when I boot up my computer while holding cmd+r as many have suggested I just get a screen that shows a padlock with a password entry bar, and I have no idea what the password would be for this. 

I would prefer a method where I wouldn't have to lose anything that is on this computer but if it comes to that then so be it.

alright jk i cant seem to post the screenshot of the email but basically it said they locked me out of my device and i need to send them $50 of bitcoin to get the passcode
