iPad and Projector Sound Issue

I purchased an adaptor to connect my iPad to a projector. Video is displayed but there is no sound coming from projector. What do I need to do to have sound played?

You're questions for me we're the correct ones to ask. It ended up that I had the wrong adapter. I have ordered the correct one and problem will be solved. Thank you for help.
