Which one should I choose

Ifeel confused about what should I choose 12.9or 10.5 ipad pro 

I want it for the university to study and record notes 

the question is the same as if you should get the 40" sony tv or the 55" sony tv

some like a smaller device to carry some like a bigger device to have more space

the 12.9" would be as big as a screen of a MacBook pro but that makes it less handy to read books on when you're going to sleep lest it fall and flatten your face.

So, look 'em over and make a decision. No one can make that choice for you.
