Problem Connecting to server 192.168.1.102

Following the most recent upgrade to MacOS Sierra (10.12.5), I'm plagued with the following warning box:  "There was a problem connecting to the server "192.168.1.102"." What is this? I don't have server connections as far as I know. It's the first time I've ever seen this.

Look in you Login Items to see if it is trying to mount a shared folder on another computer that had that address.

That is probably your Wi-Fi router's IP address.

Is your router working properly? Is it set up properly?

Thanks for the reply.  My Airport Extreme is working perfectly.  It's IP address is 10.0.1.1, so that's not the problem.  And, why did this appear all of a sudden following upgrade to Mac OS Sierra 10.12.5.

OK, I should have stated the answer better.

Yes, your AirPort Extreme is fine. But it connects to something else, perhaps over Wi-Fi or perhaps by Ethernet cable, that brings an internet connection into your home.

It is that device that is the problem, and it is that device with the 192... IP address.

I think it's time to move in another direction with this.  Everything associated with my home network has IP addresses in the 10.x.x.x range.  I'm positive this 192.168.1.102 "SERVER" is a carryover from something years ago that has managed to surface all of a sudden.  I don't have a clue where to look to see what I can delete or edit to get rid of this notice:

There was a problem connecting to the server "192.168.1.102".

The server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time.  Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again.

Everything is working as it should, but I get this notice on my iMAC which is connected with a Cat 5 cable and on my MAC Book Air 2 which is WiFi, but not on my wife's Macbook Pro.

Thanks.

Barney-15E,

Not only was your answer helpful, but it solved the problem.  I started deleting login items and the second one I deleted was the offending app.  It seems I was trying to use version 2.2 of the Screen Sharing Menulet.  This was the last free version from years, and I mean many years ago.  The current version is 2.8 and costs $1.99 on the App Store.

When I deleted this one and restarted the computer, problem box disappeared.  Thanks for steering me in the right direction.

Well, today (9/16/17) I upgraded to MacOs High Sierra and much to my dismay, the problem has reappeared.  Years ago, and I do mean years ago, I had a Lynksys Router.  It's ip address was 192.168.1.1 and anything on that network existed with an ip of 192.168.1.100 to 200.  So, I'm wondering if there is something on both my older (late 2009) iMac and my newer (mid 2013) MacBook Air, that is trying to connect to my old, very, very old network.

I've deleted all items from my login so that is NOT causing the problem.

Help!
