MacBook freezes when switching screens while us...

Hi,

I have a MacBook Pro (mid 2012). When I want to use my mini-displayport to display my MacBook on another screen (Monitor or TV) my MacBook freezes and the only option to shut it down is a hard reset with pressing the on/off putting for a few seconds. I have updated MacOSX a few times, whilst the problem was still existing, and I am currently working with MacOS Sierra, version 10.12.6.

Anyone has had a similar problem or has a solution?
