FIRMWARE PASSWORD ISSUE
Hello community, i own an iMac 21,5" Mid-2011..a couple of years ago, after reading an article about privacy and security, i set up a Firmware Password: the problem is that the password i saved does not work when typed in, it's like the system does not recognize it.
It could has something to do with the hard drive replacement? I think i set up the firmware password while having the original hard drive that i replaced with a ssd..could it be?
With this password enabled, am i still able to format my ssd and reinstall macos without typing the password?
Eventually i'll take it to the Genius Bar to have it serviced: by the way, the removal via custom-usb-stick is a free operation?
Thank you in advance
Best regards
You are correct in taking it into your local Apple Store to be serviced. They will need to help address the issue.
