Is there alternate software for Quicken Essenti...

I have a Mac Pro running 10.12.4.  My Quicken is 4.5.8 (Build 45.17542.100).  When I did a reconciliation a month ago the amount in the starting balance field was too high by $692.22.  I corrected the starting balance and entered the correct closing balance.  Of course when I completed the reconciliation I was off by $692.22.  This month it was to high by $346.63.  Once again when I finished I was off by $346.63.  I double checked my Quicken ledger against the online ledger provided online by my bank and found no discrepancies.  How do I get Quicken to fill in the correct amount for the beginning balance.  I have been using Quicken for more than 10 years and this has never happened before.  Is there an alternative program that will let me keep a bank account ledger with reconciliation?
