The File is locked (or is it?)

Two accounts exist on my desktop Mac; using OS X Yosemite and TextEdit.

In the Info window:

Just increased a Folder's Admin privilege to Read & Write so each administrator can access folder contents.

Then selected "Apply to enclosed items ..."

Now I cannot save Edited files which were previously in the folder.

Apple message is: "The document ... could not be saved. The file is locked."

However, the file's Info window does not have a Check mark in the Locked box.

How can I unlock, if they are locked, the files in the folder so I can save their edits?
