Replacing logic board in my mid 2011 Mac Miniini

My Mac Mini logic board had a fatal attack during a power change during hot weather. I am replacing it with care and following the careful advice from others who had the same problem. I am faced with the choice of purchasing a 2.3, 2.5 or 2.7 Ghz. logic board replacement. I do not know how to determine which one I am replacing since I can no longer, even before removal, see the processor speed. How can I find and replace with the original speed board?

Also, could I upgrade at this point to a faster processor?
