Home Sharing could not be activated because an ...

i've read thru the all the forum posts and seen many people who have experienced this error and not a single response from Apple or anyone who can say what the error 5599 actually means or how to solve it.  apparantly it goes away on its own eventually which is NOT an acceptable solution!!  So, I'm posting one more instance just to see if anyone at Apple actually cares about thier customers!

I have a brand new MacBook Pro with Retina Display and can't enable home sharing.  That's pretty sad.

Still no response to the error 5599 issue that I can find.

So much for watching the planned movie with my wife tonight.

This apple TV has been more trouble than anything else I have owned.
Streaming from my computer always needs 3-4 trips from living room to office upstairs to fix something.

After searching around this evening I ran into the fix for the dreaded 5599 error...simply authorize the computer you're enabling home sharing on.
