Disable file verification

Stuck in file verification and can't disable it

1- I am trying to play a mkv file and system starts verifying it, which takes minutes and ends up in "file blocked because it is not from an identified developer".

2- Then I go to settings>security&privacy>general to allow it.

3- There is a message saying "file blocked because it is not from an identified developer". There is no option to open files from any source (we had that didn't we?).

4- I click "Open Anyway" but I just go back to step 1, system starts verifying...

Help please? There must be a keyboard shortcut to disable such verification, right?

Does it do the same thing if you control - click/Open?

Try in the Safe Mode or another admin user account.
