Files do not appear once saved somewhere

I am having big problems with saving files. Once I save them in a new location they do not appear immediatelly and sometimes not even after I restart. Same goes for downloads. I first noticed this on the desktop but slowly spread everywhere I tried. It takes more than half an hour sometimes for files to appear and today appeared even some screenshots I made days ago. Worst is the desktop. With the Finder is faster. Also when I try to open a file with an app it finds them even if they are not vissable in the Finder. Is there a way to fix this?

A MacBook cannot run iOS. What version of OS X are you running?

Sorry, must have selected wrong. I am not sure but I am updating it now to macOS Sierra Update 10.12.6
