Messages not syncing

Hi,

 

I use Messages on my iPhone 6s running iOS 11 and on my Mac running High Sierra. I believe that now these messages should be syncned but it's not working. If I delete a message from my phone it does not get deleted from my Mac and vice versa. Can anyone help or have any info on this?
