Safari iOS10.3.3 no longer functions correctly!

I have an iPad 2 running iOS 10.3.3. I have noticed ever since iOS 11 has been available, Safari on my iPad has had major issues with many websites. A few examples: I can no longer access dropdown menus on many sites (those used by the mobile versions of sites), comments sections fail to load properly and this Apple communities post just showed up blank (I'm having to access this site using a different browser). I have started using the Firefox iOS browser and don't encounter any of the issues. Firefox isn't the solution to this Safari issue as it misses out on quite a number of key browser features that Safari has and I feel are important. I am reluctant to upgrade to iOS 11 as I feel it will slow down my aging iPad and compromise the battery life (plus the fear I could potentialy brick my iPad). I use my iPad for work so it's important that it functions well. I cannot, at the moment, afford a new iPad. This issue is most frustrating as I cannot see why Safari would suddenly stop functioning when I haven't updated my iPad. Anyone else experiencing issues?

Sorry, should have said I have iPad Mini 2, not iPad 2.
