Splotchy Screen

I have splotches all over my screen on my MacBook Air.

Not sure how they got there. But it's like some of the coating has worn off.

I have tried cleaning with recommended screen clearer and proper cloth but no luck.

See attached image. Horizontal lines and small splotches all over the place.

Is there a solution?
