Itunes 12.7.0.166 sync photos from mac to iPhone

I just updated iTunes (12.7.0.166) and found that I've lost the ability to selectively sync photos between my Mac and iPhone.  I have over 50 GB of photos so I sync just a portion of my photos to my phone.  Is there some way to sync photos between the Mac and phone other than using iCloud?  Thanks for the help.

The ability to sync photos from a computer to an iPhone has not changed with the current release of iTunes 12.7.0.166 (and I just double checked that on my Mac with that version).

As with previous versions of iTunes, you cannot sync via iTunes if iCloud Photo Library is turned on in the iPhone.

If it is still failing, tell us what steps have succeeded, and what have failed, as well as software version numbers (iOS, iTunes, MacOS).
