My workplace has disallowed personal use of our company MacBooks for many of us until this is figured out. Please help! It's a feature built into Windows, but the IT team can't find the Mac equivalent.

Like many coworkers, my MacBook has two user accounts: A work account and a non-admin personal account. We were previously allowed to reboot and use the personal accounts for things like Facebook over lunch and for occasional breaks during work hours. The Windows users are still allowed.

My office has two wireless networks: First is a guest and personal wifi network, and second is a work wifi network. The guest network has no special privileges, and we are allowed to use it for personal things that don't need to be audited. The work network must only be used for work related tasks. It has privileged access to internal and external tools. All activity is heavily policed for compliance reasons.

How can I configure my MacBook to join a specific wifi network when I reboot and log into the matching macOS account? In other words: join the guest network when on my personal account, and join the work network when on my work account. The network selection needs to happen before login completes. Not one packet should be sent to a site like Facebook when I'm on my work network. I can't manually switch after logging in because the built in macOS notifications system starts before any user applications are run, and this causes the legal and compliance team to flag us for a mandatory workplace security training session.

If it helps to understand the problem, I can frame the question differently: I effectively want to restrict certain macOS accounts from using specific wifi networks.

• My work macOS account must not try to log into our guest wifi. Not a single network packet.
• My personal macOS account on the same machine must not try to log into our work wifi. Not a single network packet.

It would be great if there were no such thing as wifi access at all before logging into the correct account.
